Ukrainian Assault Targets Russian Naval Vessel and Oil Facility at Novorossiysk Port

According to a recent publication by hromadske, a Ukrainian landing operation has reportedly caused damage to a Russian naval vessel stationed at the Novorossiysk port. Satellite images captured on November 25 reveal the ship being escorted by two tugboats, indicating it may have sustained serious harm.

The vessel in question is identified as a Project 1171 large landing craft, which is typically utilized for transporting troops and armored vehicles during amphibious missions. OSINT analyst Tom Bike noted that its slow movement under tow suggests significant operational disruption for the Russian Navy.

The attack targeted various military assets within the port area, including an oil terminal and air defense installations. Sources from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) indicated that long-range drones were deployed in this coordinated strike involving multiple Ukrainian military units such as Defence Intelligence and Special Operations Forces.

This operation aligns with Ukraine’s broader strategy to undermine Russian air defenses while simultaneously impacting oil revenues that support ongoing military efforts. The SBU emphasized that these actions are part of an extensive campaign aimed at weakening Russia’s logistical capabilities.

Interestingly, during this same period, Ukraine also launched an assault on the Beriev Aircraft Plant located in Taganrog-home to strategic bombers like the A-50 and Tu-95-resulting in damage to a rare A-60 laser aircraft.
