Contship reports strong 2025 results with revenue and profit growth

Contship Italia Group reported strong financial results for 2025, driven by growth in both maritime and intermodal operations.

According to the company’s results published in the EUROKAI annual report, net revenues reached €293 million, up 10.9% year on year.

Net profit increased by 16.7%.

Growth across core segments

CFO Tommaso Ferrario said the group continued its steady growth path, supported by both terminal and intermodal activities.

The maritime segment, led by the La Spezia Container Terminal, delivered revenue growth despite operational challenges.

These included partial closure of the Fornelli pier and changes in global shipping alliances.

Intermodal expansion continues

The intermodal division recorded its fifth consecutive year of growth.

This segment includes operations such as Sogemar, Hannibal, Oceanogate, Rail Hub Milano, and driveMybox.

Growth was supported by new services and stronger domestic and European connections, despite infrastructure constraints.

Strategic investments and acquisition

Contship strengthened its structure through the acquisition of STS Group, completed in June 2025.

The deal expands the group’s customs services offering and supports its integrated logistics model.

The company also advanced infrastructure development, including work on the Ravano Terminal project and expansion plans in La Spezia.

Workforce and sustainability focus

Headcount rose to 1,150 employees, reflecting both organic growth and the integration of STS staff.

During the year, Contship launched its “Moves That Matter” sustainability strategy, setting targets based on a double materiality assessment.

Outlook and strategy

CEO Matthieu Gasselin highlighted key growth drivers, including the Damietta Terminal, La Spezia expansion, and continued investment in intermodal logistics.

Looking ahead, the group plans to accelerate digital transformation, with a focus on artificial intelligence and predictive analytics.

Contship said it will continue to expand its integrated logistics network while maintaining control over key strategic assets.
