Loconi Intermodal has launched a direct rail service between Baltic Hub in the Port of Gdańsk and PKP Cargo International Terminal Paskov in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

The service started at the end of May 2026. It is the first direct rail connection between the two terminals.

Trains depart every Friday from Baltic Hub. The service offers a two-day transit time.

Loconi said the new route meets growing demand for reliable and lower-emission container transport between the Czech Republic and Polish seaports. It also supports the company’s Node-to-Network strategy in Central and Eastern Europe.

The service gives exporters and importers in the Moravian-Silesian region faster transit times, lower logistics costs and lower carbon emissions than road transport.

“Building on our proven infrastructure, terminal capabilities, and 15 years of operational experience, we are strengthening our position in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Niels Jakobsgaard Andersen, CEO of Loconi Intermodal.

Loconi said the new connection strengthens rail’s role in building more resilient and sustainable European supply chains.
