Hengli Heavy Industries is showcasing its shipbuilding strength during this week’s Posidonia 2026 exhibition in Athens.
On the opening day of the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2026, Aegean Shipping Management, led by Georgios Melissanidis, announced a landmark agreement with Hengli Heavy Industries for the construction of two LR2/Aframax tankers and two very large crude carriers (VLCCs).
With the latest order, Aegean’s fleet portfolio will expand to 22 vessels, including 16 tankers and six bulk carriers, resulting in a fleet with an average vessel age of approximately three years.
